MAMA is led by Melissa McKinney, singer-songwriter, musician, educator, and event curator based in Asheville, NC. Renowned for her powerful vocals, Melissa is dedicated to using her voice for positive change and empowering youth to do the same. She serves as the Programming Director for LEAF Global Arts and co-founded the WTF (Women to the Front) music festival, which highlights women in music. MAMA just won the Merlefest Band Competition and the regional Blues Challenge in Durham for the Triangle Blues Society. This qualifies her to compete at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN this January. All tips and donations from the show go towards supporting her journey.
